Legends Never Die

The alternate ending of the first book of the Éarth Chronicles. Blue Star : the Legend of M. This series deals with time travel and alternate realities, so I figured it would be fun to do the alternate storylines. This chapter will eventually end up in a book called 'Legends Never Die' which well include alternate endings, stories which focused on other characters which were not put into the core story because with the Éarth Chronicles being M's story, I didn't want to fill the series up with every single detail. There are actually three stories within book 1 that will be featured in 'Legends'.

Chapter 60 Buried

Dust filled the air as John, Michael, and the rest of the army glared at the once mighty Water Realm Academy. The once proud building had been reduced to rubble, with the thirty-ninth Hèro buried underneath.

"You think he could have survived?" asked Michael as he looked at John.

"There is always hope" replied John as the dust began to be blown away by the wind.

"In other words you think he's dead," said Chad as he walked up behind them. Once the dust was finally gone, they could see the horror which layed in front of them completely.  A mix of broken stone, glass, and metal with black blood flowing from each port.  As they began to clear the rumble away, they began to find bodies of both the Sucars and their fallen comrades.

"Roscoon!" shouted a soldier and Michael ran over towards him. This was a Sun Realm soldier, dark skinned and his voice was a very deep base. "There was a body pulled from the debris," continued the soldier. "We need you to identify it."

"Why me?" asked Michael as he rested his right arm on his empty sheath.

"It is believed to be your fiancée" said the man solemnly.

"It's her," said Michael the soldier looked at Michael with confusion.

"But you have not seen the body?"

"I don't need to," said Michael with an exhalation of breath. "She died in my arms. I watched the light leave her eyes." As he spoke a tear fell from his eye.

"I'm sorry for your loss," said the soldier.

"Don't be," said Michael as he crossed his arms and lowered his head. "She's just sleeping" Michael continued as he closed his eyes. "When my world becomes dark and cold, I'll see her again."

The Solider held his hand out for Michael to take what was resting in his palm. Michael looked over at the man's hand and saw Rebecca's crystal. Michael reached out and took the crystal and held it to his chest and as the soldier began to walk away Michael whispered. "You will always be with me"

M slowly began to move as he awoke from his unconsciousness. M mound as he opened his eyes, but as they opened them, he found that he couldn't see anything. He coughed as he tried to move, but found that he couldn't go far without hitting something. He wanted to create a fire with Fighting, but found that he was so weak that he could not even lift his arm up. All M could do is feel his surroundings, he felt a pain impaling into his lower chest. The pain went right through all the way to his back, M could feel something wet and sticky beginning to form around his back and it was beginning to spread.

If M could see he would have found out that one of the smaller support beams which once kept the Water Realm Acadmey standing was now impaling into his body. M tried to move once again and as he did, he felt that his crystal had landed underneath his body. That was the reason the light from his crystal was not helping him see his surroundings.

As he lay still unable to move something began to drip onto his cheek. A small red light began to appear over his head as the ruble began to shift around more things began apper to him. The light illuminated some things, but all M could see was it was a body over his head. His brain put the two and two together and he realized it was the body of Dark Flame which had been pinned just a few feet above him. The Dark Fighter's brain had been dead for hours, but his body had not figured it out just yet. The blood from his body dripped slowly out of the rubble where it had been pinned.

"Jack," said in a weak voice, his voice came out so soft that no one would have been able to hear him.M began to wheeze softly as he was not having trouble breathing with his lung slowly beginning to shut down on him. As he looked up in horror at the sight of the body the red light began to die out. After Dark Flame's crystal died out it left M once again in the darkness.

M couldn't move his body, but he found the strength to turn his head to the right causing the blood from Dark Fire's blood to now hit his neck and trickle down onto his cheek. As M turned his head the light from his own crystal appeared illuminating the small area, he was confined in with blue light.

As the light began to light up the area, the reflection shined off the sword of M's father and sent the light shinning all around the area bouncing off each metal object in the area. M could now see everything, the body of his former enemy pinned above him, the metal road which stuck into him, even the broken tip of his own sword. He thought that it must have been brokered in half when the building collapsed.

Seeing the blue light made M happy, even with him losing feeling in different parts of his body, one after the other. He could not feel the blood leaking from his own body, he couldn't feel the blood dripping from above him and onto his neck. All M could feel was cold. As the light began to fade a tear fell from M's eyes. As his vision finally failed all he could think about, in his final moment was he had failed.

As his body released the small amount of air in M's lungs, M became motionless and there he lay for the rest of time, the Water Realm Academy was never rebuilt on that location. The location was forever known as the final resting place for the 39th Hèro of Éarth, Marshal O'Brain.
